The reasoning is such: the economic stability of this country is, without a doubt, THE most important factor to be considered.  Without its vast wealth, economic prosperity, and opportunity for investment, there is little that is left in America worth much at all.  So money comes at the expense of ideas.  Alright, fair enough.  I love money.  You love money.  Everybody just wants to make a buck.  But the fact is, that the institutions which have allowed America to become so prosperous are the very institutions which it is now disavowing in the name of economic stability.  President Bush promised that the measures taken by the Government would be “limited, and temporary.”  Please.  When do you actually see a government give up power over the economy once that power has been taken?  Never.  Congress has summed up the situation, handed money to the villains who caused the problem, expanded the influence of special interest groups, and subsequently passed the tab onto the American taxpayers to the tune of $3,000 for every man, woman, and child living in America.

It is this Writer’s opinion that in fact the only way in which the economics of our great country will ever be able to rid themselves of the corruption, greed and avarice which has permeated them hereto, is so experience complete and total economic collapse, and start over from scratch.

There is so little about America’s current economic policies of which anyone can say they are still proud. The ideals of free market capitalism, entrepreneurism, responsibility, and free trade have been completely eradicated. What are the steps that our government needs to take in order to fix this situation? None. This is not the responsibility of the government. Rather, what is the government doing NOW that they should STOP doing?
